Hamilton County Warrant Records Hamilton County Warrant Records

For an official Hamilton County warrant question, contact the office that owns the record. The Sheriff's Office serves many warrants, the Criminal Court Clerk handles county criminal-court records and bond payments, and a city clerk holds its own municipal docket. Start with the court. A clerk confirms status. Give the office the court name shown on the notice when you call. Direct a payment, public-record request, or surrender inquiry to the proper public office, because each office can address only its own records and duties.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the sheriff's warrant unit or the issuing court directly.

Hamilton County Official Warrant Contacts

Use the type of case and the named court to choose a public contact. Bring the citation, docket, or warrant number when you have it.

  • County warrant search or routing: use HCSO's official website and Open Warrants search. For general office routing, call 423-209-7000; HCSO non-emergency dispatch is 423-622-0022.
  • County criminal case or cash bond: contact the Criminal Court Clerk at 423-209-7500, 600 Market Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402. The public clerk information is at Hamilton County Criminal Court Clerk.
  • City ticket or municipal FTA: contact the city court named on the citation. Each municipal clerk sets its own case search and payment steps; use the Hamilton County city court contacts.
  • General Sessions criminal matter: ask the Criminal Court Clerk to route a county-level case, or contact the court named on the paperwork. A municipal clerk cannot clear a separate county charge.

HCSO's public information says a person arranging surrender should go to the Hamilton County Jail at 601 Justice Way, Chattanooga. Call the Sheriff's Office first for current instructions. The Criminal Court Clerk lists cash bond payments at 600 Market Street; do not take cash to the jail or assume bond can be posted at the sheriff's counter.

Requesting Sheriff Records or a Warrant Status

The HCSO open-warrant page is a public search, not a real-time background report. It may lag a court action and does not cover every city docket. To request sheriff records under Tennessee's Public Records Act, HCSO directs requests to its records process and says it will acknowledge them within seven business days. Send an email request to openrecords@hcsheriff.gov and identify the record sought; a request for records is not a private-site account or a case-clearance request.

For an arrest, bond, or surrender instruction, speak with the official office instead of emailing personal case details to this site. In an emergency, call 911.

This page does not provide a staffed warrant desk, case lookup, legal representation, or bond service. Public offices control their own dockets and may change hours, phone routes, and payment rules. If a link or detail here needs an update, use the site's contact channel only for a correction about the page; do not send a Social Security number, date of birth, case narrative, or confidential legal papers.
